What is ELSA?
ELSA (Empathy for Little Souls & Animals) is a non-profit organization that rescues and cares for animals in need and funds medical care for children who don't have access to it.
How does Rescue Tails help?
The game is free to play. 100% of net profits go to ELSA to fund rescue operations, veterinary care, foster homes, adoption programs, and children's healthcare initiatives.
Can I really adopt an animal from ELSA?
Yes — ELSA arranges real adoptions. Every match is carefully reviewed to make sure the animal and family are the right fit. Adopters are expected to provide adequate medical care, quality food, socialization, and time.
Who cannot adopt from ELSA?
ELSA does not approve adoptions in these cases:
- Dogs kept only outdoors — a dog is a family member and deserves comfort, protection, and affection inside the home.
- Animals adopted as a surprise or gift, including for children. Adoption is a serious commitment the future owner must make themselves.
- Cats with free outdoor access — indoor-only adoptions protect them from accidents, theft, and disease.
- Animals being sent to countries with a significant stray animal crisis.
- Homes with unspayed/unneutered mixed-breed pets where sterilization is refused.
How long does an adopted animal take to adjust?
Behavior can change with a new environment. Adjustment can take anywhere from a few days to several months. ELSA's team offers guidance and support throughout.
